ADHD assessment for adults in Gdańsk – what does it involve?
Many adults with ADHD have heard all their lives that they are “lazy”, “scatterbrained” or “not trying hard enough”. Yet undiagnosed ADHD may lie behind difficulties with concentration, chronic procrastination, disorganisation, impulsivity and emotional instability. In adults it rarely looks like childhood hyperactivity – more often it is inner restlessness, racing thoughts and a feeling that you put much more effort into everyday life than others do. An assessment finally lets you understand yourself.
We carry out the assessment thoroughly, using recognised tools. It is built on a detailed clinical interview and the DIVA 5.0 structured interview, designed specifically for diagnosing ADHD in adults. We complement it with the MOXO computerised test of attention and impulsivity and – when other difficulties need to be ruled out – the MMPI-2 personality questionnaire. This combination makes it possible to distinguish ADHD from depression, anxiety disorders or the effects of chronic stress, and to reach an accurate diagnosis rather than a hasty label.
The assessment usually involves 2-3 meetings of 50-90 minutes each and ends with a discussion of the results and a written report with recommendations. You get a clear answer and specific guidance on what to do next – whether it is worth considering medication with a psychiatrist, psychotherapy or ADHD coaching. We see patients in our offices in Gdańsk and carry out part of the assessment online. We work privately, without referrals or NFZ (Poland's National Health Fund) waiting lists. Start with a free initial visit, where we will explain how the process works and what it costs.
