The WAIS test in Gdańsk – how does the assessment work?
The WAIS (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale) measures the general intelligence of adults aged 16-79. The test consists of 11 subtests divided into a verbal and a non-verbal scale – they assess, among other things, general knowledge, comprehension, memory, arithmetic reasoning and visuospatial abilities. This means the result is not a single bare number but a profile of your cognitive strengths and weaker areas.
People come to us for the WAIS test when they want a reliable picture of their intellectual potential, but also when the test is part of a broader assessment – for example to differentiate cognitive difficulties, to assess functioning after a health crisis or to provide documentation for an institution. The test is carried out by a qualified psychologist in controlled office conditions – something no online test can replace.
The test itself usually takes 60-90 minutes, depending on your pace of work. The psychologist then analyses the results and prepares a written report, which you discuss at a separate meeting. We start the process with a consultation, where we choose the tool and give you a full quote. We see patients at three offices in Gdańsk: Wrzeszcz (Wajdeloty 28, by the SKM railway), Ujeścisko-Łostowice (Bergiela 4) and Ujeścisko (Piekarnicza 5).
