About this service

Schema Therapy is an integrative therapeutic approach combining elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic psychotherapy and Gestalt. It focuses on identifying and changing deep emotional patterns (schemas) that developed in childhood as a result of unmet emotional needs. The therapist helps you recognise your active schemas and the modes in which they operate, and then works on changing them through cognitive, experiential and relational techniques. Schema therapy is particularly effective for personality disorders, chronic depression and relationship difficulties. Sessions last 50 minutes.
