ADHD assessment for adults in Gdynia – what does it involve?

Many adults with ADHD have spent their whole lives being told they're “lazy”, “scatterbrained” or “too wound up”. Yet behind difficulties with concentration, finishing tasks, organising time, impulsivity and unstable emotions may lie undiagnosed ADHD. The assessment isn't about attaching a label – it provides an explanation, lifts the burden of “it's your own fault”, and opens the way to concrete support: therapy, skills training, and sometimes treatment too.

We carry out ADHD assessments for adults thoroughly, over 2-3 meetings of 50-90 minutes. We use recognised tools: the structured DIVA 5.0 interview, the computerised MOXO attention test, and the MMPI-2 personality questionnaire, which helps distinguish ADHD from other difficulties with similar symptoms, such as anxiety or depression. We gather your history from childhood and adult life, because ADHD doesn't begin in adulthood. At the end you get a clear result and concrete recommendations on what to do next.

The whole process is usually 2-3 meetings spread over time, each lasting 50 to 90 minutes. We see patients at our office in central Gdynia at 10 Lutego 7/103, on the first floor, a few minutes from Gdynia Główna station, with convenient access from Redłowo, Orłowo, Witomino, as well as from Rumia, Reda and Sopot. Part of the assessment can be carried out online. Start with a free initial visit, where we'll answer your questions and plan the process.

ADHD assessment for adults Gdynia – frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions

How much does an ADHD assessment for adults in Gdynia cost?▼

An ADHD assessment for adults costs from 400 PLN and includes 2-3 meetings of 50-90 minutes, using the DIVA 5.0, MOXO and MMPI-2 tests. You can start with a free initial visit (15-20 minutes), where we'll explain the process and answer your questions.

What tests do you use?▼

We base the assessment on the structured DIVA 5.0 interview, the computerised MOXO test of attention and impulsivity, and the MMPI-2 personality questionnaire. The latter helps rule out other causes of the symptoms, such as anxiety disorders or depression, which are often mistaken for ADHD.

How many meetings does the assessment involve?▼

Usually 2-3 meetings spread over time, each lasting 50 to 90 minutes. We need them to carry out the interview and tests and to gather your history from childhood and adult life. At the end you receive a result along with written recommendations on what to do next.

Will I get a document after the assessment?▼

Yes. Once the process is finished, you receive a written opinion with the result and recommendations. A psychological assessment isn't a prescription – if you're considering medication, the result will form the basis for a conversation with a psychiatrist, to whom we can refer you.

I already have another diagnosis – does this still make sense?▼

Yes. ADHD often co-occurs with anxiety, depression or mood disorders and can go unnoticed for years. That's why we use the MMPI-2 in the assessment – to distinguish what comes from ADHD and what from other difficulties, so the two aren't confused.

What happens after the assessment?▼

If we confirm ADHD, we'll suggest concrete support: psychotherapy, ADHD coaching, organisational skills training, and, if needed, a referral to a psychiatrist. If ADHD isn't confirmed, you'll still leave with a clear explanation of where your difficulties come from.

Where in Gdynia, and is any of it online?▼

We see patients at our office in central Gdynia at 10 Lutego 7/103, on the first floor, a few minutes' walk from Gdynia Główna station. You can easily get here from Karwiny, Chylonia, Dąbrowa and Wielki Kack, as well as from Sopot and Reda. Part of the assessment can be carried out online.

Do you work with the NFZ and how quickly can I get an appointment?▼

We carry out the assessment privately, without the NFZ (Poland's National Health Fund) and without a referral, so the wait for an appointment is short – days, not months. You can also book an evening or weekend slot, as we see patients Monday to Friday 8:00-22:00 and Saturday and Sunday 9:00-21:00.
