Intelligence testing in Gdańsk – when and why?

Intelligence testing is not an “internet test” but a standardised psychological assessment carried out by a qualified psychologist, using tools with Polish norms. People have it done for many reasons: to understand a child's intellectual potential and match school demands to it, as part of a differential diagnosis (for example with learning difficulties or a suspicion of ADHD or the autism spectrum), for a report requested by an institution, or out of curiosity about their own strengths.

We choose the tool to suit the age of the person and the purpose of the testing: for adults we use, among others, the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS); for children and teenagers, WISC-V or IDS-2; and where non-verbal testing is needed (for example with language difficulties), Leiter-3 or Raven 2 work well. The testing itself usually takes 60-90 minutes; afterwards the psychologist analyses the results and prepares a written report, which you go through together at a separate meeting.

We start the process with a consultation, at which the psychologist sets the purpose of the testing, chooses the test and gives you a quote for the whole process (testing + analysis + report + discussion). We carry out testing at three offices in Gdańsk: in Wrzeszcz at Wajdeloty 28, in Ujeścisko-Łostowice at Bergiela 4 and in Ujeścisko at Piekarnicza 5. You will find the full list of tools in the psychological tests section of our website.

Intelligence testing in Gdańsk – frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions

How much does intelligence testing cost?▼

The cost depends on the tool chosen and the scope of the report, so we price the whole process (the testing, analysis of the results, the written report and the discussion) at the initial consultation – the consultation costs 200 PLN, and the free initial visit 0 PLN. You know the price of the whole process up front.

Which tests do you use to assess intelligence?▼

We use standardised tools with Polish norms, chosen to suit the person's age and the purpose of the testing: the Wechsler scales for adults (WAIS) and children (WISC-V), IDS-2 and, where non-verbal testing is needed, Leiter-3 or Raven 2. The psychologist decides on the choice at the consultation.

How long does the testing take, and when will I get the results?▼

The testing itself usually takes 60-90 minutes, depending on the pace of work. The psychologist then analyses the results and prepares a written report – you discuss it at a separate meeting, usually within 1-2 weeks of the testing.

Do you test intelligence in children?▼

Yes – for children and teenagers we use age-appropriate tools (including WISC-V and IDS-2). The testing helps to understand a child's potential and explain difficulties at school, and it is often part of a wider assessment, for example for ADHD.

Can I use the results at school or at a counselling centre?▼

Yes. After the testing you receive a written psychological report with the results and recommendations, which you can present at school, at a counselling centre or at another institution. We agree the scope of the report at the start of the process.

How is your testing different from online IQ tests?▼

Online tests have no Polish norms, no controlled conditions and no qualified diagnostician – their result has no diagnostic value. A psychological assessment is carried out by a psychologist using standardised tools, and the result is interpreted in the context of an interview and observation.
