Why Sztuka Harmonii?
Psychodynamic psychotherapy in Gdynia – who is it for?
Sometimes a problem keeps coming back despite your best intentions: you end up with the same type of partner again, you blow up in the same situation again, you sabotage something that matters to you again. The psychodynamic approach assumes that beneath the symptom – anxiety, low mood, difficulties with closeness – lie unconscious conflicts and patterns, often rooted in early relationships. It isn't about blaming the past, but about understanding why you react the way you do today – and, through that, regaining choice.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is less task-focused than CBT, and more geared towards understanding. We talk freely about whatever comes to mind – relationships, dreams, emotions, including those that arise towards the therapist. It's in that very relationship, as if in a lens, that your patterns reveal themselves, so they can be seen and worked through together. This is deeper, usually longer work, but one that reaches the sources rather than just the symptoms. Where useful, we combine it with elements of other approaches.
The session lasts 50 minutes and takes place at a steady rhythm, usually once a week – regularity matters especially here, because it builds a safe, continuous therapeutic relationship. We see patients at our office in central Gdynia at 10 Lutego 7/103, on the first floor, a few minutes from Gdynia Główna station, with convenient access from Redłowo, Orłowo, Witomino, as well as from Sopot, Rumia and Reda. We also run sessions online. Start with a free initial visit.
