Why Sztuka Harmonii?
What does psychodynamic psychotherapy in Gdańsk involve?
Sometimes you realise that something in your life does not add up – you choose similar partners who hurt you, you explode for no reason, you run away from closeness, or for years you have carried a tension you cannot name. Symptoms treated in isolation from their causes often come back. Psychodynamic psychotherapy assumes that many of our reactions are rooted in the unconscious and in early experiences. By understanding these sources, you stop being a prisoner of repeated patterns.
In psychodynamic therapy the tool of change is the relationship with the therapist and what happens between the two of you in the session. We look at your thoughts, dreams, emotions and the way you enter into relationships – including the therapeutic one. We do not give ready-made advice or homework as in CBT; instead, we uncover hidden meanings and conflicts together. It is deeper and usually longer work, leading to lasting change in the way you experience yourself and the world.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place regularly, most often once a week – a fixed time frame is an important element of this method. We see patients in three offices in Gdańsk: in Wrzeszcz on Wajdeloty Street, in Ujeścisko-Łostowice on Bergiela Street and in Ujeścisko on Piekarnicza Street, as well as online. We work privately, without referrals or NFZ (Poland's National Health Fund) waiting lists. Start with a free initial visit, where you meet the therapist and see whether this approach speaks to you.
