Hypnotherapy in Gdańsk – what is it, and what is it not?

Therapeutic hypnosis has nothing to do with stage shows. It is a state of focused, deepened attention – a bit like being absorbed in a book – in which it is easier to reach automatic reactions, tensions and habits. You stay in control and aware of what is happening the whole time; the therapist does not “install” anything and cannot make you do anything against your will.

In therapeutic work, hypnosis can be a valuable complement to psychotherapy: it helps to reduce tension and anxiety and supports work on stress and psychosomatic symptoms, sleep difficulties or unwanted habits. It is not a “cure-all”, though, and it does not replace psychotherapy or medical treatment – which is why we always precede it with a suitability consultation with a psychologist, who will assess whether it will be safe and helpful in your situation or whether another form of work would help more, such as psychotherapy or EEG Biofeedback training.

The suitability consultation lasts 50 minutes and costs 200 PLN - in it we discuss your needs, any contraindications and a plan of work. The hypnotherapy session itself lasts 90 minutes and costs 550 PLN. We see patients at three offices in Gdańsk: in Wrzeszcz at Wajdeloty 28, in Ujeścisko-Łostowice at Bergiela 4 and in Ujeścisko at Piekarnicza 5. You can also start with a free initial visit to meet the specialist and ask questions – with no obligation.

Hypnotherapy in Gdańsk – frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions

How much does hypnotherapy cost in Gdańsk?▼

A hypnotherapy session costs 550 PLN and lasts 90 minutes. It is preceded by a suitability consultation with a psychologist (200 PLN, 50 minutes), where we check for contraindications and agree a plan of work - the number of sessions depends on your goal. You can also book a free initial visit (0 PLN) first, to ask questions with no obligation.

Is hypnosis safe?▼

When it is carried out by a qualified specialist in an office setting – yes. You stay aware and in control the whole time, and you can stop at any moment. There are, however, contraindications (including some mental disorders), which is why we always begin with a suitability consultation.

What does hypnotherapy help with?▼

Most often it supports work with anxiety and tension, stress and psychosomatic symptoms, sleep difficulties and ingrained habits. We treat it as a complement to psychotherapy, not a replacement – it works best as part of a wider therapy plan.

Will I lose control or say something against my will?▼

No. Therapeutic hypnosis is a state of focus, not a loss of will – the myth of “taking control” comes from stage shows. You will not do or say anything you do not agree to, and the session can be stopped at any moment.

How is hypnotherapy different from psychotherapy?▼

Psychotherapy is a regular process of working on emotions, patterns and relationships. Hypnosis is one of the techniques that can support that process. At the suitability consultation, a psychologist will advise whether the better first step in your situation is psychotherapy, work with elements of hypnosis or, for example, EEG Biofeedback.

Where in Gdańsk do the sessions take place?▼

At three offices: in Wrzeszcz at Wajdeloty 28 (close to the SKM railway), in Ujeścisko-Łostowice at Bergiela 4 and in Ujeścisko at Piekarnicza 5. You can also have the suitability consultation online.
