Why Sztuka Harmonii?
Trauma psychotherapy in Gdańsk – how do we help?
Trauma is not only the result of war or disaster. It can also be left by an accident, violence, the loss of a loved one, a difficult birth, an illness and, often, repeated hurtful experiences in childhood. The body and mind then react as if the threat were still there, bringing recurring memories, nightmares, hypervigilance, irritability, numbness or anxiety with no clear cause. These are normal reactions to abnormal events – and they can be worked through effectively.
We begin with a psychotraumatological consultation, where we come to understand what happened and agree on a safe plan together. In trauma therapy we use methods with proven effectiveness: EMDR (processing difficult memories with the help of bilateral stimulation), somatic work focused on the body's reactions, and trauma-focused CBT. What matters most is a sense of safety and the right pace – we do not push you to tell everything at once. First we build stability, and only then do we work with the difficult material.
A psychotraumatological consultation lasts 50 minutes and costs 220 PLN, and we tailor the following sessions to the chosen method and your needs. We see patients in our offices in Gdańsk – in Wrzeszcz on Wajdeloty Street, in Ujeścisko-Łostowice on Bergiela Street and in Ujeścisko on Piekarnicza Street – and online. We work privately, without referrals or NFZ (Poland's National Health Fund) waiting lists, so help is available quickly. Your first step can be a free initial visit, where you meet the therapist and see whether you feel safe with them.
