What is TUS and who does it help?
Social skills training is a series of group sessions following a proven programme, in which children practise, in a safe setting, the things they find hardest in everyday life: joining in a game, waiting their turn, asking for help, responding to teasing, losing without an outburst and talking about their emotions.
We put groups together based on the children’s age and needs, so that every participant has the chance to practise skills at their own level. Sessions are run by psychologists trained in the TUS method. After each module, parents receive feedback – they know what we are working on and how to support their child at home.
TUS is especially recommended for children on the autism spectrum, with ADHD or with selective mutism, and for shy or impulsive children – but any child who finds relationships with peers hard will benefit from it.
