Aniołki stretches along the foot of the moraine hills, in the shadow of a vast complex of hospitals and a medical university. Doctors, nurses and medical students live and work here every day, and patients come here from all over the region. It is a district marked by the closeness of health and illness, of caring for others and of enormous responsibility. Such a daily life, though full of meaning, can weigh on you mentally more than it might seem, especially when it is hard to find a moment for yourself.
Both healthcare workers and other residents of Aniołki come to our psychologists. We talk about burnout, which hits the helping professions especially hard, about chronic stress, about anxiety and about trouble sleeping after on-call shifts. Students face pressure and overload, and many people simply need a place where, at last, someone takes care of them. Therapy is exactly that kind of space, free from judgement.
Our nearest office to Aniołki is the Wajdeloty Office at ul. Wajdeloty 28 in Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, which you can reach by tram in a dozen or so minutes, or quickly by car. For hospital staff it is a convenient way to look after their own mental health after a shift. And if after work you no longer have the energy for the journey, you can choose an online session and talk to a psychologist from home, calmly and without rushing.
